Make this now (or whenever you can): Margarita popsicles and Ultimate burgers

Hello, friends. If, like me, you’re homebound during the coronavirus scare and watching the world go by through the front window, I get it: It’s tough. And boring.

But it’s necessary.

In the next couple of days, I’m going to share some of the “prepper” grocery store items — mostly dried and canned goods — I stocked up on to make meals over the next several days/weeks/whatever it takes. And I’ll share some delicious recipe ideas using them.

But for now, allow me a little levity.

I shot a recipe segment at NBC a few weeks ago. Originally, I was going to tape a live Super Bowl tailgate segment in the alley behind the studio in Universal City. But with the impeachment trial in the news, there wasn’t time for that much fun — at least not on live TV. We changed the recipes and shot a segment to hold — ideally for March Madness — for when people would be hosting parties and want fun, and delicious, food for the gang.

The station decided to run the segment this morning. You can find it here. And why not? We all need a little fun while we’re housebound.

If you're stuck at home, and happen to have these ingredients on hand, throw a social distancing party with these margarita popsicles and ultimate burgers. Don’t worry. The recipes make just enough for you to host no more than several of your best friends so you don’t go over the recommended grouping of 10 recommended by the CDC.

In the meantime, if you have questions about how to stock for a quarantine, or want to know a recipe to make use of dried beans or canned peas, shoot me an email, or comment below. I’m happy to help.
